*CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Mark A. Medina
We rejoice in the One who leads us beside still waters,
and gives us refreshment of soul.
Christ our Shepherd shows us the way we should go,
so that the name of God will be glorified.
Though all manner of evil befall us, we will not be afraid,
for the Great Shepherd of our souls is with us.
We are never away from the love and mercy of the Lord,
and we shall be with him forever and ever.
Let us worship the ever present God!
*HYMN 401 Here in This Place GATHER US IN

WE CONFESS AND RECEIVE GOD’S PARDON
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O Christ, whose voice brought peace to the waves, we pray for a glimpse of your peace in our lives. When all around us has given way to chaos, ground us in your presence. When the struggle for justice seems endless and we grow tired, refresh us by your mercy. Help us to see that you are in the boat with us, even when we are certain that it is sinking. Forgive us when we doubt the power of your grace, O Lord, and make us agents of your reign. Hear now, O God, our silent prayers of confession.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER Rev. Robert Hunt
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

ANTHEM Poor Man Lazrus arr. Jester Hairston
(1901-2000)
Poor man Lazrus sick and disabled; Dip you finger in the water, come and, cool my tongue, ‘cause I’m tormented in the flame. He had to eat crumbs from the rich man’s table; Dip you finger in the water, come and,
cool my tongue, ‘cause I’m tormented in the flame.
Rich man Divies he lived so well; Dip you finger in the water, come and, cool my tongue, ‘cause I’m tormented in the flame. And when he died he went straight to shhh (hell); Dip you finger in the water, come and,
cool my tongue, cause I’m tormented in the flame.
I love to shout, I love to sing; Dip you finger in the water, come and, cool my tongue, ‘cause I’m tormented in the flame. I love to praise my heav’nly King; Dip you finger in the water, come and,
cool my tongue, ‘cause I’m tormented in the flame.

SERMON Manifestation of Christ: Active Presence Rev. Medina
MOMENTS OF REFLECTION
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Confession of Belhar
We believe in one holy, universal Christian church, the communion of saints called from the entire human family. That we share one faith, have one calling, are of one soul and one mind; have one God and Father, are filled with one Spirit, are baptized with one baptism, eat of one bread and drink of one cup, confess one name, are obedient to one Lord, work for one cause, and share one hope; together come to know the height and the breadth and the depth of the love of Christ; together are built up to the stature of Christ, to the new humanity; together know and bear one another’s burdens, thereby fulfilling the law of Christ; that we need one another and upbuild one another, admonishing and comforting one another; that we suffer with one another for the sake of righteousness; pray together; together serve God in this world. Amen.
