COVID-19 - Church Building and Ministry Update

Step by Step

This year our Stewardship Campaign “Step by Step” is focusing on the practical ways in which we seek to respond to God’s grace through generosity and giving. The Bible is very clear on the subject of Stewardship --- We are to be the caretakers of his church and effective managers of the property entrusted to us. How do we do that? What are the costs/ benefits?
Giving is a personal issue, so please consider the following:

• “Why do I give to the church when there are many other places asking for my limited resources?”
• “How do I teach my children about stewardship or what do I want them to know?”
• “What are some of the factors I consider when I decide how much to give to the church?”
• “Have you noticed any effects on your life or your church engagement due to your stewardship commitments?”

During the month of September, you will hear different perspectives on these questions. When first joining a church, I think most of us give (or serve) out of a sense of obligation. This was certainly the case with me. Only when I became active in the life of the church did I begin to fully appreciate it. The Holy Spirit is at work here and its living water extends to our community and throughout the world. My viewpoint of Stewardship has completely changed --- I now give out of a sense of gratitude.
Reid Memorial is in a good spot now and we all have a vested interest in keeping it healthy and vibrant. I pray you will embrace this opportunity by taking the next step as we follow Christ and graciously offer our time, talents, and financial support.
Respectfully yours,

Mike Williams
