Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church (USA) exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed; to provide lifelong nurture, support, and encouragement for the Christian life; to equip and enable each other for Christian ministry; and to exercise faith through caring service to others in Christ’s name.
Reid Memorial is a faith community connected by their profession of Jesus Christ as Lord and their hope in the love, generosity, and mercy of the Trinity. In day to day life, this means we care for one another and our neighbors, we respect each other’s differences, and learn from the beautiful variety of God’s people. We come together to share the Good News of the Gospel through worship, fellowship, and study as well as go out into the world to bring that same Good News to the “lost and least,” to be a voice for justice, to be peacemakers, and to humbly serve. Some of the ways in which we attempt to live this calling on our lives at Reid Memorial includes:
Offering worship that speaks not only theologically but also to the conditions of our changing world. Worship that seeks to be engaging, creative, and Spirit filled and a place of welcome for those at all stages of their spiritual journey.
Offering programming for all ages from the youngest to our oldest saints. We have a lively Children’s program, Junior & Senior High programs, Adult Ministry for Christian Education and Spiritual Formation, Senior Adult Ministry, as well as youth basketball, small groups and a variety of ways to participate in the ministry of the church through our various committees, missions, and outreach. For more information on these opportunities, please click here.
Offering opportunities for those with a passion to serve the Lord to bring their gifts to the table. Reid Memorial believes that a vibrant church is a church that is “reformed and always reforming,” which means we seek to be open to new ways of being the church, together. In Christ, we are made a “new creation” and we hope to continually seek ways that will speak the Good News in the world in a manner that is both accessible and welcoming.
The Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church Mother’s Day Out and Preschool have been teaching children throughout the community for over fifty years. As a non-profit Christian outreach service of the church, quality childcare and education are provided in a Christian atmosphere. Welcome! Finding your church home takes time and perhaps a little courage as you enter into the life of a congregation and try to navigate all the ins and outs of worship, nursery care, Sunday school, and the like. We want everyone to feel that they are not only welcome but part of our church family! If you have questions, we encourage you to talk to your neighbors in the pew, fill out the friendship pad with contact information, or speak to one of our pastors after the Sunday service.
