Golden Harvest Food Bank
We are always looking for volunteers. Excercise your love for Christ by helping others the second Tuesday of every month. There are two groups for which Reid Memorial is responsible. One group does food preparation and the other serves meals.
Here is the schedule:
- Second Tuesday, 8:30-10:30 a.m., Group One, food preparation
- Second Tuesday, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Group Two, serve meals - desperately needed!
All you do is show up. The soup kitchen is located at 702 Fenwick St. in downtown Augusta. Plenty of free parking, completely safe! You can make a short term or long term commitment.
Contact Elder Scott Chappel for more information about this outreach opportunity.
The Golden Harvest Food Bank mission is to end hunger in a 30-county service area in eastern Georgia and western South Carolina. Operating from three distribution centers in Augusta and Aiken and Liberty SC, Golden Harvest is a locally-supported nonprofit food distribution organization providing grocery products to the hungry through a network of more than 417 partner agencies and direct service programs.
One of the Golden Harvest mission components is the Masters Table Soup Kitchen located at 702 Fenwick St., directly across from the James Brown Arena in downtown Augusta, Ga. which operates 365 days a year and serves between 250 and 300 meals a day.
